Photographer’s Note
Another picture from Kid's day. I spied this little girl and her whole posture screamed 'attitude'. I loved the cocky stance, her brows all drawn down. You could almost see her pat her foot with impatience. I don't know who or waht she was waiting for, but she wasn't waiting patiently.

Hello Shelly,
This is a great shot. You've captured the soul of the little girl in this portrait, framed your shot very nicely. It is nicely composed, and well exposed.L oosely speaking this is a portrait, but a full size one. Mostly in upper body shots the following consideration might be useful. There is one aspect of the photo, beyond the technical prowess. Intuitively in shooting portraits or in cropping them you have placed one eye the subject (in this instance the right) fairly close to the center-line.
In my book, 'Math and the Mona Lisa,' integrating elements of art, science and mathematics, where Leonardo serves as a foil, I pointed out a recent discovery. In 1998 the British born psychologist/art lover, Christopher Tyler, living in San Francisco, discovered that in almost all great portraits the centerline passes through (or very close) to one eye -- not the nose. This is true in all three of Leonardo's portraits of wome (including the Mona Lisa), it is true in all of Rembrandt's magical portraits, even of many portraits done by Picasso. This is a principle never taught in art schools -- the great artist intuitively zooms in on one eye. It may have been more than intuitive with Leonardo, however. (I am a physicist/artist and Leoanrd was quite simply the best ever to combine these seemingly disparate fields.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi Shelly,
About 20 years down the road some poor young man is going to get this glaring gaze and hop too. She does look like one tough customer. Very clear crips colors and excellent details to this intresting portrait.
Regards, Tom
