So puritan and in the same time the biggest X rate movie producer of the world...

I love it. You know I heard that it was the porn industry that ended the battle between VHS and Beta. By choosing to use VHS, Beta had to fold. I heard the same might happen between DVD and BlueRay.

SONY's motto was "Sony the one and only" They refused to give the license for beta to any other company. JVC on the other hand gave the VHS license to everyone. Sony was to expensive could not keep up with the demand.
This Peep world and others like it are probably not there anymore. Once their lease expires it is not renewed. It is all part of huge improvement began under Mayor Giuliani back in the 90's.

The area around 8th Ave. between 34 street and 50th street was full of peep shows, adult video stores, prostitutes, and drugs. It was a low rent high crime area known ad Clinton and Hell Kitchen with many poor young artist, students, families and old people living there. Now there is much new construction with high rise housing and offices.
Most of these XXX rated business are owned and run by people from the Middle East and Mediteranian. The business in the second floor has nothing to do with the xxx.

This is a good photo of what the area was like but it does not define America.
