My previous post (First Declaration of Human Rights) was about Iran's heritage on display in Balboa Park, San Diego, California. Today's post shows the environmentalist parade last year during Earth Day 2006 celebrations also in Balboa Park. People of the Bahaí'í Faith did also the parade, displaying t-shirts with the words One Planet One People... Please and the same in Castilian (Spanish), Un Planeta Una Humanidad... Por Favor.
Those are nice words, as usually religious principles are. The relation with my previous post is that Bahaí'í Faith originated also in Iran. It was founded by Bahá'u'lláh in 19th century. The core principles of this faith are: unity of God, unity of religion, unity of mankind, gender equality, elimination of all forms of prejudice, world peace, harmony of religion and science, independent investigation of truth, universal compulsory education, universal auxiliary language, obedience to government and non-involvement in partisan politics, and elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty. The Bahá'í International Community has consultative status with the following organizations: United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Other views in workshops: closer view and closest view.
(I have no relation with the Bahaí'í Faith, nor with any other religion.)

Bom dia amigo

the photo goes well in colour and contrast. good one indeed.

Boa tarde Francisco. Gosto do boneco.

im very familiar with the baha faith as i have dates a persian girl who told me about it in the past. you give us good info on this rarely talked about subject. thx

Hi Francisco, there's no faulting the hope that this parade brings - but it is a long road they are walking down. Nice shot - great colours and composition. Regards, Paul.

Ola Francisco,
I do like the way you framed the costumed fellow leading the others. So you have again taught me something new; I didn't lnow the Bahai'i beliefs orginated in Iran. Of course given its long history; I expect many things orinated there. SAA, pat

Hi Francisco

Ola Francisco!
It's an interesting pic of Bahai beleivevers young people. I'm totally ignorant about this faith. They seem to be decent youngsters, but being "one people" always has led to wars in human history - at least with those, who don't want to be part of this particular "one people"... The road to hell has often been paved with good intentions... Don't you think so?
Best regards!
Anton
