[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We've been having intermittent rain that clears the air to produce brilliant skies and scattered clouds that make February perhaps the best month for shooting in the Bay Area. I had plans on Thursday morning but when I saw the sky I knew I needed to get out with my camera. I rambled about the edge of the Bay and took a few photos.

This photo was taken from Fort Baker in Sausalito at the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge looking southeast toward San Francisco, the Oakland Bay Bridge and Alcatraz Island. I would love to share with you the 4368 by 2912 full size print. It is spectacular! I hope you enjoy this smaller version of what was a great day on San Francisco Bay.

Hello Curtis,
le ciel est fantastique, la photo baignée de superbes lumières.
Excellent POV et cadrage, toiut est net.
Regards.
Daniel.

Wow! One of yours truly! And what a vista it is. Not a real surprise for me BTW, but that does not make it less beautiful, although there's definetely a diffenrce between a 1680 pixel picture and an 800 one. And it's a nice surprise to see you on TE!
I love this view, Curtis. You low PoV works very well and the white waves and the boat between us and the city is a nice break in the water. Beautiful to see these clouds over the city. I think I remember from last year that February is so good as far as clouds are concerned. Nice foreground as well. You are lucky to live there, would like to see it with my own eyes one day.
Enjoy your weekend and your hikes!

I don't come to TE as often as I used to (and not as often as I would like...) and it's a delight to find one of your pictures and some of your words. And of course a picture of the place that has a special place in my heart, and that you so obviously love. Of course this sky and this sea were asking for pictures, I'm so glad you decided to go for it. Rinie has said it all, I really like the low point of view that brings out the energy of the sea (the boat gives the same impression), and the wonderful light.
I hope you are doing good, Curtis.

Hi Curtis,
A good POV on the bay, with great sky clarity and luminosity, pretty cloud formations, good sharpness and pleasant framing.

Hi Curtis,

Great shot. The sky has definitely been changing a lot in the San Francisco Bay today! I wish I had gotten out and taken photos. This image is really quite dramatic, with very good light, clarity/crispness, saturation, and perspective.

Thanks for sharing!
José

Nicely done, as always, Curtis. I love that rockbound coast -- it reminds of Maine, where I grew up.

Hi Curtis - it's a very strong, wide image of the bay & sky. The city makes an almost 'cameo' appearance, but for me it's the sky & those crashing waves that are the stars of this one. Well done.

PS - I found an old roll of 35mm film last year, dropped it off at the lab & it turned out to be from my first visit to San Francisco (and Sausalito) in 1995! for an 11 year old badly stored roll of Kodak it turned out quite well.

Curtis,

Those are some interesting clouds there!! I'd love to see this with a longer exposure to blur the waves, TFS.
