Photographer’s Note
One of my favorite lighthouses, it was an awefully foggy day, plus I was on a moving ship.. a couple of challanges, and add one more..I was trying to get the lighthouse while the light was facing me. This lighthouse is at the face of the st. clair river, the river connects Lake Huron to the North with Lake Erie to the South. The river borders Michigan, USA with Ontario, Canada. Thanks for looking at my gallery and your comments on my photos..:o)

Hi Donna,
Very interesting winter foggy view of this Great Lakes Lighthouse. Nice straight on look and detail to this rather large house and muted building in the background.

It really is a nice place you choose to show us. In spite of the difficult light conditions you manage a very good picture. However, I think it has some room for improvement if you play a bit with brightness and contrast in photoshop. Well done.

Donna,
Well worth the effort .. I can not imagine many things more thoughtful or more beautiful than a light house in fog ..
really well executed .. especially considering the challenges.
take care,
John

Quality, quality, quality. The mood is outstanding. And you caught the light perfectly. Can't say enough - this is a postcard.

Hi Donna,
The setting is very good, stands out with a good graphism this nice lighthouse, in a great contrast between his white color and the reddish tones of the houses, and the whole set surrounded by the fog, in a cold winter environment very well caught in your composition.
Good work.
Best regards,
Josep

It's times like this when I think the true character comes out in such a landmark. The darkness hints at the danger that fog used to mean to a mariner, though new navigational aids diminishes the need for such markers, I think we benifit as people for having them to see. Well done.

Well it's dark and grey, but it's why lighthouses exist. So you were lucky to catch the light.
Interesting composition

Fantastic looking lighthouse Donna, I just wonder how far from the sea this is. Your composition is indeed strong. I would certainly raise the levels slightly on this one to give it more "pop". Very well done..
