Photographer’s Note

Our neighbor Pearl turns 91 this year, and her chihuahua Tiki probably rivals her in dog years. Because several of Tiki's teeth are missing, her tongue perpetually hangs from her mouth, giving her a funny expression. They're two of a kind, salt of the earth.

This really is a tender moment. I know this is one that you're glad you captured. The look on Pearl's face is a priceless as the perpetual one on Tiki's!

This is a nice moment you've captured here, unfortunately there are some problems. There's a bit of a blue tinge in the pic (you can fix this in PS, but you can avoid it by adjusting white balance at the time of capture, or use a grey card). Also I would try this in b/w as the lady's jacket isn't exactly camera friendly. I also suggest either a different angle or a shallower DOF as the background doesnt help the comp (esp the door). Finally I also suggest including the lady's eyes in the pic. It's a little incomplete without them.

I love this image! You obviously have fond feelings for both of them. try the mage in B&W. i think it will give it a different feeling. See if you like it.

Probably because I work in an alzheimers unit, and love dogs :) this picture really touches my heart! You can see the pride that she has in her 'best friend'. Wonderful that they have each other!
