Photographer’s Note

These illuminated trees are part of an unusual landscape design at the corner of South Drexel Avenue and East Broad Street in Bexley, a suburb of Columbus. There is a curved row of these individually-spotlighted trees on each corner of the intersection, and the result is breathtaking. I think it is a really unique example of landscaping in our area of the US.

It wasn't until I took this shot that I noticed the designer even took care to use different temperatures of light; see how the colors differ? The designer also used deciduous trees (trees which shed their leaves in the fall). This makes for a different show in every season.

The image is straight out of the camera, just cropped and run through Neat Image to remove some noise from the sky. It really was every bit as dramatic in person and great fun to shoot!
