Photographer’s Note
Mountains on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula.
I know that a good photographer patiently takes the majority of their pictures at dawn or dusk, but I just can’t be bothered! When I am travelling, I would rather do 10 things in a day, than wait for the perfect picture, therefore I never know where I will be before I run out of time, and call it a day. Luckily in Alaska there is a lot of sunlight, and the sun takes a long time to set. The ‘magic hour’ is about 3 hours long I guess. I love the horizontal lighting on these mountains and the clouds. I got lucky with this picture and did not need to edit anything. I think the waves add foreground interest, but the trees on the right are a little burnt out.
If someone thinks of a better crop or clones a whale / dinosaur in the foreground let me know.

Hi Paul,
beautiful light on this splendid landscape. Your shot conveys a great sense of peace and vastness, even loneliness may be ... great shot!

Hi Paul,
The mountains seem mysterious, stark and unforgiving in this soft light. Well done.

Hi Paul, the way the light is distributed over the mountains is what makes this picture. It looks like a really beautiful remote wilderness, thanks for sharing.

Graet Picture.I adore Alaska although I've never been there (Hope I'll one one day). I love the severity an isolation of the state.
Greetings
Piotrek
