Photographer’s Note
New Bern is a sleepy town in the far Eastern reaches of North Carolina. This used to be the capital of both North + South Carolina back in the 18th century. When they realized it would take a horse and cart weeks to get to the capital from the more Western reaches, a decision was made to move the capital a bit over toward the centre...
So this is a town, founded by Swiss settlers, Baron de Graffenried was their leader. Bern is the capital of Switerland. New Bern's flag is a carbon copy of the flag of the city of Bern in Switzerland, with bears and a black and yellow and red background.
This is a shot of the town hall in New Bern where the theme of bears is quite predominant. There is also a carved bear in a park nearby. It's unbearable!
I also caught the emblem of New Bern in the foreground of the picture. Focus was kinda tough. I like the austere effect of the cloudy sky with sunlight just round the corner.
No filter. No flash. No tripod. Resized. Not cropped. No pp. One bear.
