Well I finally had enough and succombed to the influence of Dana, Ryan, and Deeb. Yes, I too visited the Cascade Mountain Range...

I blew out of work a tad bit early this evening and drove the Squaw Peak Trail. This was one of the last pictures I took (before the light and my battery failed me). It's taken looking down the southern most canyon in Provo. The lake in the distance in Utah Lake, and one can see Provo Bay (the most immediate) and Lincoln Beach with West Mountain hiding the latter part of Goshen Bay in the far distance.

Nothing tricky on the shot...F/11 for sharpness, the light was fading rather fast so I let the lads from Nikon handle the exposure. I dialed in +0.7 ev just to make sure I got some detail in the water below. I used a UV, Polarizer, and a didymium filter (a Dana Rees special). The Didymium filter I forgot I had on (shooting red leaves earlier...wonderful filter) and the Polarizer I was just to lazy to take off.

I only had time to take one quick shot at it as I still had 5 or so miles of rally car driving to go and night was upon me (few things can compare to blasting down a road in the dark across the side of a mountain with 1000'+ drop offs and the woods teeming with suicidal animals...The only thing that I can thing of that is close would be riding a paint shaker while listening to Madonna & Jon Bon Jovi screaming christmas carols with Al Gore.

Needless to say I needed some time off... ;-)
