Photographer’s Note
This is the new covered bridge in Ford Field Park. I stopped in on my way somewhere and this pattern caught my attention.
The river here is the Rouge River, a branch of the same river that runs by Henry Ford's mansion.
As I explained to Kaj in a reply Dearborn is marked with the omnipresent nature of Ford, Henry Ford's hometown its headquarters. You can play here in Ford Field or across town at Ford Woods down Ford Road.
If you prefer to read a book you can check one out from the Henry Ford Centennial Library and then later that evening catch a performance or use the swimming pool at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center next door. And if you injure yourself while swimming you can run over to the Henry Ford Hospital.
If you want to do some shopping you can do that at Fairlane Mall or Fairlane Meadows, named for Ford's estate.
If history is more your taste you can go to Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum now known as “The Henry Ford”. It’s the most exhaustive collection of all things Americana collected by Henry Ford.
You can attend numerous elementary schools named for Ford family members and then go to either Fordson High School, on Ford Road, or Edsel Ford High School, on Rotunda named for Ford's former Rotunda showcase exhibit. And if you wish to stay in the city for post secondary education there is also Henry Ford Community College.
After all that you can get a job at one of the numerous Ford buildings including the Henry Ford II World Center or Ford River Rouge factory or engineering complex. And once you retire you can take it easy in the Henry Ford Village Retirement complex.
There are numerous other uses of the name in the city and they own at least 10 per cent of the land so we grumble sometimes but it is a very beneficial relationship.

Dear Paul, fantastic note !!!
The picture is also nice, indeed an unusual pattern for a bridge. I like the picture somehow even more without the river shown. Yours, Jan

I like these close up photos. This is a good example of such photos. The colours are very nice and the diagonality of the lines puts more flavor in the photo. Nicely captured. Thanks for the informative notes. In Istanbul, we have a museum where you can find many old Ford cars, too. But it is not comparable to what you tell in your notes. Regards, Seda...

It sure is an impressive list of "Fordiana", Paul, and my only question is, if anybody of the original family still is alive and active in Dearborn today. You know, like cutting ribbons for a new bridges, and so on...
Because the one you show in your picture seems very new. The narrow angle gives it a nice repetative pattern which is falling away. The person gives proportions, but I'm not sure that I like that you don't show his face and left arm. I think I'd preferred him whole or not at all. An alternative would be to cropp off the top 1/3, along the horizontal line, only showing the lower part of the bridge with the bolts and the river. But that might be too abstract, so...

I like the graphical character of your shot. The strong details in the embankment, the wood and the metal grilles enhance that. I think it was wise choice not to portray the whole man on the bridge, in your graphical scheme of things in this photo it might have been distracting. Maybe you could desaturate and blur the trees etc in the background to make this ensemble stand out a bit more. Very good note, as usual. Nice work, Paul!

Very interesting history that this dynasty Henry Ford. Thank you for the note particularly detailed and enriching. The bridge does not miss originality on the level design and you knew to take the good angle to emphasize this one. The diagonal reinforces the composition. Thank you Paul for this very good report.
