Photographer’s Note
There seems to be a discrepancy as to the name of this bridge. Some documents refer to it as the Kinsley Covered Bridge while others call it Dr. Knisley's Covered Bridge or Dr. Knisely's Covered Bridge. Regardless of the correct name it is located in Bedford County approximately 1.5 miles southeast of Pleaseantville.
There was a steady rain that day and although it was the middle of summer the colors have a distict autumn feel to them and it was unusually cool. As is the case with thousands of other photographers, I rarely pass up the chance to photograph covered bridges, old barns, lighthouses, etc., etc.... you get the idea, and I was not going to let a little rain and chill keep me from working with this one.
For covered bridge enthusiasts, Pennsylvania is to covered bridges as Maine is to lighthouses. Wow, that sounds like the correct answer to a question on the SAT test!

Hi Gregory,
I love these cover bridges too. I haven't discovered any in Australia so far. I think they appeal to me because of the movie, 'bridges of madison county' or whatever it was called. Anyway your cover bridge is particularly pretty. The colours are glorious and having the fence in the foreground gives the photo great appeal. Thank you for sharing.
Cheers,
Debbie

Are all the bridges different in design? Why did they decide to cover them? I love your photo, it is well composed and I like the colours. Thank you.

Without reading your write-up, this photo expressed a cool, wet, cloudy and autumn like atmosphere. That is just what you wrote meaning your photo is right on! I looked more on the covered bridge as I have seen quite a few. Those bridges are not all alike. Each one has their own charm. The one that sticks in my mind is the covered bridge in Naperville, Cook County, Illinois. My wife grew up in that area and I used to visit her there.

Hi Gregory,
A great way to represent rural Pennsylvania. I like the fact that you added a frame.
We have many such covered bridges here in Quebec, Canada.
