Photographer’s Note
A very simple storefront photo. What struck me was the overall blue of the subject, the empty feeling I got when I ran into it. It reminded me of an Edward Hooper painting.
Post image processing consisted of desaturation of most colors with the exception of cyan and blue. This represents about 90% of the original photo.

Great shot. I like that kind of photos, partly desaturated. This blue colour fits nicely in here. I like the composition.
Very well done Jim!

Like the photos simplicity with the color. An easy mix of black and white and light blue. Still I can see some part with ble tones as a rest of the postwork... without that it could been either better. Like the lines too... the whit triangel in one way represent the composition, or at least feel it that way.

Nice shot Jim! You're absolutely right about the Hooper feel. It looks unreal and cold.

Strong graphics here, the long horizontal window is distinctive and along with the sharp shadows it makes a good skeleton for the photo. The details of the pillaster on the corner and the bags in the window "speaks" nicely to each other along the strong diagonal of the shadow, they have the same scale to their detailing that sets them apart from the rest of the elements in the frame that are larger with less fine detail.
The mood is very special too, I can't really decide if this is a high-strung minimalist window-decoration or just a neglected place.
Very good!

Wonderful composition and color. Really grabs the eye and doesn't let go. For some reason I find the car on the left a little distracting but it is a very minor one.

I'm not sure if the Hooper painting is the one I know by the title "Nighthawks". I don't have any books with me at the moment, but it reminds me of that painting. nicely done.

When I saw the thumbprint, an Edward Hopper painting was the first thing that came to mind. The Nighthawks painting he did in 1942 is what this photo reminds me of. It's the POV that gives it the feel. The shot makes you think that the only things for sale in this shop are the purses and shoes you captured.
