Good idea to take the Capitol like this, Elaine, particularly on the day of remembering the 9/11 attacks. Artistic, somewhat impressionist rendition of the architectural details and shapes on the rippled water surface. Nice low-key tonality, all the while with good contrast. Hope you have a good stay there, even without your D70 due to security constraints.

Elaine, this is a great tribute, so simple, with the allure of a scene seen silently, or meditatively, thru teary eyes. Thanks.

Hello Elaine
Great idea, good symbol. I wonder if the people in the governemnt take the time to look at themselves and their policies at the mirror or not,
very nicely captured reflection and light

Indeed, a sombre, "reflective" reflection of the Capitolium and a very appropriate mood for 9/11. Nothing more to add, you have said it all yourself. Let's hope this doesn't repeat...
Cheers

i love the image and the thought conveyed by this shot.. especially on 9/11! like something made the country chiver and took it off its base and certainties.. very clever shot and very well executed!

Hello Elaine,
Nice idea to show only the reflexion in the water.
That work fine here.
Well framed

This is such a metaphorical and beautiful shot, dear Elaine. Indeed a day for reflections. For what did and would happen afterwards... hope many people both within these walls and without were also giving time for deep reflections.
What strikes me is that little figure on the left with what looks like an umbrella, as he seems to hover in mid-air in the rain, moving into the sky or that spaceousness...
This Fujifilm works very well in the right hands! :-)
Take care,
sasa

Very nice, Elaine, a mix of Turner and Monet...
Gives some delicacy to the Capitol.
all the best

You made the most of the overcast conditions to produce this great study of the reflection of the Capitol building.
Well seen and well executed.
