Photographer’s Note

Downtown Tiburon at the water's edge are two piers serving ferries, one for ferries that travel to Angel Island, the second for ferries that travel to or from San Francisco. I visited the area late on a Sunday afternoon when hoards of tourists who've brought their bicycles on the ferry for a day a cycling through the hills of Marin County head home. There were well over a hundred cyclists waiting for the ferry at the moment I took this photo. You see a couple of the bicycles in the foreground, together with one of the riders who took this opportunity to capture a great shot of a sailboat passing beyond Angel Island and across the distant view of San Francisco. I don't know whether this young fellow was pleased with his capture, but I certainly like mine. Hope you enjoy a day on San Francisco Bay.

Yeah well, what can I do about it when bicycles are involved in a picture? It is stronger than me...,but as a biker, I would say you got the focus all wrong ;-)
The biker /photographer (hey a ‘colleague’ of mine) leads us nicely to the sailing boat and to Angel island and the city, although I think I would have preferred a little less blur on the biker.
It seems like a nice day out (I planned to go sailing next Sunday, and I was looking forward to it, but my friend had to change her plans, too bad)
Did you hike to the place?? Or were you also on the bike?

Hi Curtis - I had to look at this one a few times as it didn't connect with me as immediately as many of your other images have done in the past. Repeated views have been worth it, the image is composed well & the bokeh effect is good too. Looking at the view across to San Francisco I can imagine just what this other photographer 'got' - as implied by the title!
