[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On Sunday I visited the waterfront at Tiburon not too far from where I live in Marin County. My camera has spent too many days in the bag and I thought a lovely day with scattered fog above the Bay might be the right time to take it out.

The high fog brought with it a good breeze that was much appreciated by the many sailors on the Bay. This fellow has just returned to the marina where he berths his boat, sail now furled as he motors past the breakwater. In the distance you see the Russian Hill district of San Francisco topped by residential towers with stunning views of the Bay.

There is nothing dramatic about this image, but it gives viewers a sense of what a Sunday drive might be for those lucky few who own sailboats and ply the waters of San Francisco Bay. Enjoy!

Hi Curtis - it doesn't need to be dramatic to be a winning shot! The DOF is what does it for me here, that wonderful cityscape as a backdrop. A lovely shot.

hi Curtis
As you say not much dramatic in this one, but why should it be? Nice as is.. Good use of the boat as a foreground, excellent presentation of the background in the right blur (dof). Fine offcentered placement of the boat. Asking me.. hmmm.. Everything in place.

Good evening Curtis!
Very well captured and composed scenery from California. Nice depth of the field and contrast between foreground and background. Great shot. Thanks for posting and thanks for informative note.

One of the reasons the long tele-photo lenses were invented.
And it is the good one...( I mean the reason !).

Cool shot, Curtis
