[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was shot during the Fourth of July Parade in downtown Larkspur, California that I visited previously with the two images, Fourth of July Parade and Look Ma, NO Net. Enterprising vendors worked along the edge of the road both before and during the parade to sell novelties and in this case, frozen delights.

I love the boy's finger touching the images of a fruit bar on the side of this vendor's cart and decided to share my pleasure. I know from what transpired later that this is exactly what the man was searching for as the boy stared at the tantalizing image. As you can imagine, on a warm day the fruit bar melted as he ate, covering his little hand with a sticky mess!

It was a wonderful day enjoyed by thousands of families, as well as a great many photographers.

Hi Curtis - it's a moment captured - the boy waiting for the ice cream! Vivid colours (especially on the cart & it's array of stickers) and the tight composition is very effective.

Hi Curtis,
You caught this surely at the decisive moment. The youngter's hands captivate the eye, as does the ice cream vendor whose head bobs into his treasure chest for the goods. I like the framing and cropping here. First rate and enjoyable to view. Regards.
John

Hi Curtis, lovely colorful summerly capture of the longing boy. At first I thought I would have like to see the man's face as well, but the sooner he can get the icecream out for the boy, the better, it seems. The boy's finger reminds me of these fingers.
When I was young, there was some sort of icecream car like this one, from ERMI, and the best ice creams, also the cheapest, were the red ones, of which occassionally we could have one.
Nice!
I might have cropped a little closer, so that nothing of the road on top and on the left side or the yellow lines were visible, but I'm not really sure, I tried it, but I can't decide ;-)

That small action of the finger already expresses desire! I good picture. Even if the ice cream man is cropped some more, the little boy's action with his finger is very strong.

A well seen and captured image, we know 'fruit bars' as Ice lollies over in the UK :)

Hi Curtis
this is an interesting shot, I like the different colors on that ice cream cart and the moment you have captured at it with the boy showing what he wants and the vendor getting that. The blank details of the background road are also nice, I like the tight crop and the image is sharp.
Good job
