Photographer’s Note

This is taken from the balcony at Shell Island Resort on the north end of Wrightsville Beach, NC. The beach you see in this picture was "rebuilt" after a hurricane in 1986 opened up an inlet north of the hotel. From old pictures that I have seen, the water nearly came up to the pool seen in this picture.

I tried to capture the early morning solitude and the contrast between nature and the manmade structures.

Hi John. Nice composition & combination of electric and natural light. The contrast between nature and man made structures would have been better if you either captured more of the high building on the left or omitted it entirely. But that's a small detail. I like the lonely feel of this picture.
