A shot of windsurfers on the Columbia River near the town of Hood River, Oregon. Looking west into the late-afternoon sun. Here the river cuts through the Cascade Mountain range, with cliffs rising as high as 4000 feet on the south (Oregon) side. The east-west orientation of the gorge causes a wind-tunnel effect, so windsurfers and other water-wind enthusiasts flock here from all over.
My first outing with a new D200. The backlit effect was intentional.

I think it's a very good shot (especially with blue white and red after ;-) I like the light and the contrast. I did a Workshop for you. Hope you like it. (yours are well done, but i'll have to send mine tomorrow, I've reached the limit today)

I like the mountains in the background. I think they provide atmosphere and a sense of the surroundings.
