Sunrise in Death Valley Photo

Photographer’s Note

Shortly after midnight leaving from Las Vegas with the clear goal - to reach the Race Tracks Valley in Death Valley before sunrise. The last 30 miles / 46 km along an unpaved road delayed me a lot. What a reward for the long way. I arrived just before sunrise. The early morning haze was lazily roling above the valley. The first rays of the rising sun just touched the hills in the North West and the twilight sky just began to glow redish. I felt like in Paradise. Being just lonely in a remote place, far away from any other human beings and watching the wonder of Nature. I was happy.

Inspiring. I want to go. Could be generally a little sharper I feel but nevertheless beautiful.

Hi Michael..nice sunrise....! i ki\\like the compo with a large area of cracked ground...the lack of sharpness gives a nice hazy touch

Michael,

Very original shot of death valley. The compo. is very good and the timing is great. I suspect that the haze did not stay there very long.

What reward for you a what a treat for us.
Splendid and unseen image formed by three layers of beauty, the great gray space with dried soil, the fog, and the mountains with the first sun rays.

Wow! what a great shot, bet you were really pleased to get this one, i have been meaning to get to "The Racetrack" for sometime now, was on my list for my last trip, but we ran out of time and never made it, so it's a definate for our next trip in oct, although i was thinking to go there for the afternoon, but after seeing your shot and i am now considering going for sunrise.

Nice composition and beautiful light on the mountains. the rolling mist really adds to the photo too. Well Done!
