[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On a boring afternoon we decided to take an old fashinoed Sunday drive and ended in Carmel and decided to visit the mission.
It had been 20 years since my last visit here and I fell in love with the church, it is so beautiful and at the same time devoid of frills, a pretty but humble church.
To get this photo I literally sat under the Holy water font at the entrance of the church. I havebn't had much opportunity to experiment with the lens converters I received for Christmas, however as I sat there I realized, quite by accident that by tuning one of the lens converters
backwards and holding it in front of the camera I got a wider but distorted view.
The photo is blurry because I didn't use a tripod and sitting under the Holy Water font while trying not to move was difficult. My mother and my husband were laughing themselves silly and a few unsuspecting tourists got quite a startle as I stood up.

The , Parish has wonderful historic data of this beautiful mission. It stands now as a beautiful compound only because it was lovingly resotred by a few dedicated people. Junipero Serra's mortal remains are interred in this mission. I was struck by the peacefull surroundings specially in the garden. Through out the mission there are beautiful mosaic scenes which i was pleasntly surpised to find out they were made in Portugal.

This photo was significantly cropped and resized, contrast adjusted and levels too. i pass therough Neat Image.

Uma foto que se enquadra perfeitamente neste período de Páscoa. Uma basilica bem simples e bonita que capturou numa excelente perspectiva e em enquadramento simetrico. Boa manuseamento de luz principalmente a que é reflectida no corredor. Boas cores e contraste. Parabéns por esta bonita composião. Uma Santa Páscoa para si e família.

Hi Cristina. What a nice view of this modest church. The depth is very good, and I like the repetition of the pews and the ceiling arches. The subtle golden browns tones are lovely.

Me gusta mucho esta foto, esta muy bien captada, la perspectiva es muy buena y tiene un efecto de profundidad muy bien lograda. Para haberla tomado sin tripode esta buena.

i like the symmetry here and the curving lines. I think it might work as a b&w too.

Olá Cristina,
Excelente captura deste interior e com uma qualidade surpreendente tendo em conta que não usaste tripé. O ângulo centrado é perfeito e neste caso resulta muito bem com a forma ogival do tecto. Adoro a distorção da imagem, que resulta no prolongamento da forma ogival para as paredes, embora não consiga perceber bem se não é natural. Uma imagem arquitectónica muito interessante e nota excelente, que também me fez rir. Parabéns!

Vi um comentário teu e lembrei-me de que já não via nenhuma foto tua há já algum tempo. Fui à procura e é verdade. Tens andado afastada do TE. Espero que não seja devido a algo muito grave.
Entretanto gostei de ver esta foto e aqui estou eu. Parece ser um local muito bonito e a imagem está excelente. Mesmo a distorção dos bancos comobina com as paredes em ogiva da igreja. A perspectiva leva-nos ao altar o qual é sempre o ponto principal numa igreja. Muito bonita.

An excellent experiment of inverting the lense. Your arced lines give us the impression of closeness with the idea - as if we are in an ancient boat - something like the Noah's arch...

I didn't understand quite well what you did with your lenses to get this photo but the result is stunning. The wide-angle with the round distortion looks extremely well. It's a pitty that the sharpenss is not perfect. As a nature lover I never went to the mission in Carmel but all the around. I guess that next time I will have to have a closer look. Thanks for making me aware of a very interesting place.
