Hole in the Sky Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took this photo a little bit north of Salt Lake City. I had to hoof it all the way to the top of a very large hill in foot-deep snow wearing nothing but tennis shoes but I think the results were worth the effort.

And I only fell in to the snow up to my knee twice.

The sky looks like a draw made with charcoal (i think it's called charcoal). Very good use of black and white. Really nice!

B/W rally does the trick here - makes the sky very dramatic.

I know this hill! I really like the darker tones, and am glad you opted for the darker shot rather than having too much contrast which would have made your sun hole too bright. I kind of would like to see the hole in the sky a bit off center, though.
