Photographer’s Note
This was taken in Detroit's International Airport. It's like a vision of the future a la Epcot Center.
The colours would pulse and change hue rhythmically. The light would climb the walls and arch over the ceiling alternating colour patterns. The kaliedoscopic lights were in time to ambient music or sounds playing on hidden speakers that stretch the length of the passage.
Quite tripped out.
If you want to see a more focused pic of this long empty passageway between terminals see Abraham Schneider's (abesch) photo: tunnel blue green.
=========
I was standing on the moving platform looking around incredulously when I noticed the pilot walking up behind me. I quickly pulled out my camera, turned off the flash, and snapped up this slow shutter shot. I like the colours and general sense of motion in it.

Well done Alex. The colors are excellent and the motion is blurred perfectly.
The only thing wrong here are those yellow things in front, and those two small pink patches in the frame. They distract the eye from the main theme here.
I've done a workshop to get rid of those distractions, I hope you don't mind.
Very good shot anyway.

Looks like travel is starting earlier nowadays, airport hall designers are doing the most they can to give us the impression we're already elsewhere. I guess this is one of the signs of the "experience economy" : value will now be added through self experience or staging.
I like how you captured the departure excitement, lights and blur, anonymous people, a fugitive vision of a crew uniform.
Motion blur is really appropraite to catch the airport feeling, I've often used it in airport shots, it might even be unconscious...
btw, is there any "airport theme", this should be quintessential to traveling...I'll go checking...

Surreal and beautiful. It's as if you captured a frame from a dream. It feels very calm to me which contrasts well with the buzy reality of airports. You are truly an artist.

What a vision.
Being colour blind I can't see any pink and the vibrant yellow is both threatening and irresistably drawing the main characture into the frame.
Great shot Alex

Well, the colors are magnificent but your composition and the motion blur accentuate the play of colors. I remembered seeing the picture of tis ame place before.

this is a shot which allows the viewer to interpret more than just visual stimulation..it asks for thought. and provokes a feeling of controlled unreality..the small figures on the left keep the frame balanced and add a 'who are they' atmosphere..the colours are in the right end of the spectrum to excite.

WOW, I love it, I just love it. It's all blurry with wicked color, and this figure just nail it all to something that makes sense, your eyes keep going back and forth, from the figure to the blurry surrounding and back.
Very nice.

Great colors! I like a lot how these match the blur creating a surreal image. Good point of view and composition with the man well placed.
In this type of expression you could see the work of Torben here in TE (if you haven't noticed it allready).

very moody scene, very blurred, but here it works.. all those vibrant colors... and the man looking like he is entering some special, weird place, like something is going to happen soon, an importantevent in 10 seconds up there...
moody!

Oh yes, the blur effect works well and added a touch of motion to it. Nice colors and composition.

I'm sorry, but the view of Abraham seems to me better. Nothing in you picture is neat. I would like to see at least a small part, the guy for exemple.

Great Shot Alex! I love the motion in the shot, and your right- the colors are quite "trippy" (for lack of a better term- haha).
It's amazing how sometimes we are soooo careful of having things in focus, that sometimes something that is so blatantly out of focus- gives us a whole new perspective on things.
Thanks for the inspiration, and reminding me that things don't have to be sharp to be "cool".
Cheers,
Dan

Well...for more than a moment I thought it could not be the original version. Indeed, your is a real piece of abstract art, with a great composition that makes even more dinamical the whirl of colours. Who said the perfect shot must be on perfect focus? ;)

I remembered seeing a couple others on here at one point of the light tunnel. I really like this one and the bit of motion blur from forward motion on the walkway and perhaps a little lateral motion as well. It heightens the experience of the light tunnel as some kind of psychedelic trip ala 2001: A Space Odyssey. There is also a nice rhythmic blur to the lights that gives the feel of the chords and tones being played over the hidden speakers. So yours does a fine job capturing an overall feel of this really cool space.
