Photographer’s Note

Las Vegas, Nevada, which I call an artificial city [see also my other photos and their notes], may also be labeled City of Light. Whithout all those neon signs and electric lights, Las Vegas Strip wouldn't exist. Money is the King of Las Vegas, but as it is all so futile and the monuments are so mock, I call it also the City of Plastic Gold (or perhaps City of Golden Plastic).
I don't agree with one of Las Vegas usual titles, "Sin City". There are many cities as sinful as this.
What impresses me most here, it's how it is all so artificial or simulated. In Las Vegas, even the poor folks pretend to be rich, because they can enter in those sumptuous casinos and stroll in the middle of the gorgeous lights and exuberant monuments. It doesn't matter that all this is fake and will vanish when the party is over and the crowds go home.
This view is Leo the Lion, in front of the MGM Grand Las Vegas hotel casino. Location in WikiMapia: 36.1013015, -115.1724565.
