Photographer’s Note
Hi everyone!
Hope you had a great holiday..
Here is another strange sight in Death Valley. I heard some explorers, years ago, left a teakettle by the sign and not knowingly, started this trend (the sign says Teakettle Junction). Many others who went back to this place, took their own teakettles and hung from the sign :) They mostly have the name of the person(s) along with the date. There are some writings to claim the remains of certain individual contained in the kettle. I don't know if I believe that or not.. anyways.. I think I go shopping for a kettle next time I'll be heading that way :)
Cheers!
Skye
PS:
I added to workshop a shot so you can read the sign. It's not very good because of direction of the light just for showing the sign.

What a bizzar trend! I love it! Great shot Skye, and interesting note. I like the angle, although it would have been nice to see the writing on the sign (but I guess that would difficult given the angle of the sun-light). Thanks for sharing! :)

Hi Skye and happy new year!
lol ! I was about to trow my old kettle and know I'll keep it in case of I'll visite this place! Your shot is very funny. I like the different colours of the kettles and the backgroud is very beautiful too.
Cheers

Hi Skye,
Thanks for sharing that kind of funny shot. I stared a long time at your photo in order to see the details and the shapes of the different teakettles (someone looks like a cow, another one have a spring ...). Although I thought few people come in Death Valley, I realized thanks to your pic that I was wrong. Haha.
PS : I just discovered you and I really like your work.

An amusing sight, Skye, and your choice of POV is good. Maybe I would have pulled back just slightly to separate the sign from the edge of the frame, but that's really minor. This is another part of Death Valley I've never gotten to, I guess! Regards, Ken.

funny, especially that it reminds in the first moment of tibetan flags in mountains. Good effect :D

Hi Skye
Cool and weird practise. So, is it true? Did you try to find out the true about this practise?
Well framed shot, pal.
