Photographer’s Note
The loveliness of Paris
Seems someshow sadly gay.
The glory that was Rome
Is of another day.
I've been terribly alone
And forgotten in Manhattan
I'm going home
To my city by the bay.
I left my heart
In San Francisco
High on the hill
It calls to me.
To be where little cables cars
Climb halfaway to the stars!
The morning fog may chill the air.
I don't care!
My love waits there in San Francisco
Above the blue and windy sea.
When I come home to you
San Francisco
Your golden sun will shine for me!
I left my heart
...
"I Left My Heart in San Francisco" is a popular song.
It was written in 1954. The music was written by George Cory, the lyrics by Douglas Cross.A recording of the song by Tony Bennett became a chart hit in 1962 and adopted by the city of San Francisco as a signature song. It has often been performed in public by Bennett on special occasions as well as in concert, most notably in the final National Football League game at Kezar Stadium featuring the San Francisco 49ers and at the reopening of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge after sections of the bridge were damaged by the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. It was also sung by Frank Sinatra.

Ciao Paolo, immagine molto suggestiva e caratteristica di SF anche se "somehow sad" come dice la canzone di Parigi, ma questo è dovuto probabilmente alle nuvole minacciose ma anche al senso di lonliness, mi piace molto ...

Bonjour Paolo,
I nevr associate San Fran with b/w. NYC? YEah, Paris? Sure..but SF always appears colorful in my mind..mainly red for some reason. So its interesting to see a photo of it in b/w. The hills and the Golden Gate are the two symbols of this wonderful town and you got them both in the frame.

Hello Paolo,
This is really interesting B/W, The sky and the bridge on the river is really dramatic, this is looking like a old picture from Hollywood movie set.
I did a quick workshop and played with Burn and dodge tool, hope you don't mind.

Excellent composition looking downhill to the bridge. As Rafal says B&W is a surprising choice for San Francisco, but it works well.

Hi Paolo - a very familiar sight for me, I work for the city municipality in street and sidewalk construction, this time your subject is my job, great view of the Bay bridge framed with steep houses.
