Photographer’s Note
This was taken under the Galveston historic landmark "The Balinese Room". ZZ Top had a song "Down At The Balinese". This was a celebrity spot back in the 50's. It has now been worn down by the elements. Comments are always welcome, thanks. Richard

Welcome to TE Richard. This is a beautiful B&W composition. Great tonal values, and very well balanced. The contrast between the straight posts and the clear sky is really effective. You've captured many different textures here. Very well seen.

The grey sky and rough water fits nicely with the theme of worn down, abandoned(?) place.
The rhythm of the wooden post is very lively and interesting. They make a classic S-shaped path into the image for the viewer, and it's a good choice of composition to put this path at the edge and balance it with the horizontal lines of the sea and the building.
Nice informative note.

So this is the Balinese !!!
I was a fan of the texan trio 20 years ago, I've always imagined the place as a shack on the border of a dusty road with some mexican girl waiting at the door (maybe because the track was just next to "mexican blackbird" title on my "Fandango" vinyl...).
I then give you my two points for the caption. I had to wait more than 20 years to get the clue out of that famous "Balinese", thanks for that Richard.
As for the shot? A good one, this is an original angle and you've done good processing closing the right hand side with, I guess, a black gradient.
I like the overall contrast and the cold duotone you applied (it seems).

Nice shot. Would you consider adding more contrast to this shot and adding more grains to make it even more dramatic?
