Photographer’s Note
A student walks in front of the greenhouse near the Diag on the University of Michigan's central campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Taken at about midnight.
This greenhouse is attached to the Natural Sciences Building, which was designed by Detroit architect Albert Kahn in 1913. He designed dozens of other buildings on campus.

Geoffrey,
Beautiful longish exposure. The light is gorgeous. I love all the names on the greenhouse. Great compostion with the blurred figure waking adds a bit of movement to the shot. Great work

I've recently wanted to start up with some low light photography similar to this. Of course my digicam is a bit less versatile for handheld shots (though I see this is a tripod shot) so I have to limit myself for now or get out the old A-1 with its fast lens and some high speed film. At least until I leap into the world of DSLRs. So I'll learn a bit from your photos in the mean time with the hope I don't waste a lot of money on developing :)
This is really crisp and a great capture of the greenhouse and how it glows golden at night. The names are clearly visible in this very crisp image. And the tree frames the image perfectly. And the faceless passerby blurred against the golden background works well to add some dynamism.
