This is the Hawthorne Bridge over the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. It is one of the eight major bridges that connect east and west Portland.

Finished in 1910, it is Portland's oldest surviving highway bridge, and is one of the oldest vertical lift bridge in operation in the world.
