Photographer’s Note
The cages on the ground are lobster traps. To catch lobsters, the fishermen sink the traps to bottom of ocean floor with lobster bait inside. The white-blue spindles on the side are buoys to indicate the locations of the traps. Each family has a different colors and patters of the buoys for its own trap.
The red colored house is a warehouse. The houses across from the harbor are typical New England style houses.
This picture was taken in Rockport, Massachusetts. Rockport is a fisherman’s port at north of Massachusetts next to Atlantic Ocean.

Hi Wes,
There is so much to see here looking at the busy throughfare packed with boats and all those items used in the trade. I like the "L" shaped layout. It makes it interesting and the sky is a good breathing space.Well done!!! Regards.

Indeed it looks like a characteristic scene from a New England fishing harbor, Wes. All elements necessary to tell the story are included in the frame; the red warehouse on the stone pier makes a nice "anchor" for the scene.

Hi Wes,
What an interesting capture of this busy harbour scene. I like the subtle colours here and your POV. The traps seem to overwhelm the little boats. The reddish brown building in mid-frame balances the colour patterns and I like the DOF, as one can clearly see the houses on the hill beyond. Very quaint and portrayed with great clarity, Wes. Good capture.

The scene has a muted pastley look about it; no doubt due to the lack of sun. It makes it look peaceful somehow. Good DOF to show all the details
Well done

I have to say Wes you always seem to find something interesting and very picture worthy for your gallery. The big net cages really add a nice foreground and that red building has some really interesting things hanging on it too. Then the homes along the rear shoreline shows shows its a very interesting place to live. Good work and Cheers Wes.
Summer is almost over and I wonder what our Trek group will post for Fall series. It has been a very interesting year...so far!

Very nice place Wes.
I was there few years ago. At that time we found an excellent seafood restaurant just few metres from the warehouse.
You got the picture from a very good angle, good compo. Nice colors and sharpness.
Well done.

Hello Wes
The only thing missing in this picture is the smell.A very active harbor, typical of the Atlantic seaside.
I like your POV which let us see al the details of the arts and craft of these fishermen.

Hi Wes
So much to see in this scene - it's packed with detail and colour and really tells us a story. I like the foreground details of the ropes and baskets, which show activity and human presence. Lovely scene.

Hi Wes, Good to see this fishing industry place. With lobsters usually being rather pricy, it is interesting to see some of the boats and gear which are needed to catch them. Good colours and message. Murray.
