Photographer’s Note
Did a curves adjustment, increased contrast a bit, and unsharp mask.

"Learning more about the world through photography"... I hope that people have learned a lot yesterday and that thousands of photographers as you will be able to show it. Good work!

Very well framed shot showing the efficience of the photographer as an eye-witness of important political events. I like the contrast between the hard words and the elegance of the cast and the set-up on the placards. Well done, Adam

Good shot Adam. This PJ image has the spontaneous quality of something you'd see along a march if you just glanced up, yet the composition is very thoughtful. I like the symmetry of the signs. I also like the framing elements of the foreground ledge and the background building, and the fact that they complement the composition without too much detail to distract from it. My one big issue with this shot (from a technical POV), is that the lighting on the subject is neutral and flat. I think this image would have 100% more energy with just a pop of fill flash to offset the backlighting. Otherwise, excellent photo.

Love the perspective & composition. Wish there were a little more light on the subject.

I like the reason behind the shot and message, but the center of the man's body is horribly underexposed, on my monitor just one big dark mass. Face is also a bit dark.

If, when you say you increased contrast, you mean you opened the Contrast box under Adjustments...don't! Not if you already did Curves. Because adjusting contrast is what Curves does. Only better.
This is a nice p/j. I think it could be cropped even closer, as the interest is the signs and the man's face - all else is irrelevant.

Nice one... I just didnt like the way she is so centered.
I would have cropped some of the right part, to make the whole effect more dramatic.
(or maybe the left part? - Im never sure about those things. better try and see)

I really like this photo. I think that it needs to be cropped slightly on the left side, it seems a little out of balance, and allows the person and the signs to be centered in the middle third. Also, allowing for a little bit more red would bring out the words in the signs a bit more, making it a bit more striking (it could be true already, I haven't messed with my monitor settings lately). Great shot and great message.
