The photo was taken during Ice climbing in Alaska on glacier Byron (30 min south of Anchorage).
For doing this, you can rent an ice climbing geer in Anchorage, but, you better have some experience

PS: For some reason I have always found Ice climbing a bit too risky for my tastes ... i am happy with rock climibing ....

Good Photo. you were brave to cross were you did,you must have good shoes,Thats alot of ice.Well done.

Not sure that's my idea of fun, but glad you like it! Certainly makes for an interesting photo. I agree with Jorge that a little more sharpness would help. Thanks for sharing.
