Photographer’s Note
Whenever I go to Martha's Vineyard, I usually snap a picture of a gasoline pump, just to compare the prices with the rest of the mainland. It's always higher, usually at least 50 cents or more higher. I took this shot back in April (2005). The regular unleaded price on this pump is $2.66 per gallon. I filled up on the mainland when I was heading back to Logan Airport, and the prices south of Boston were $1.99. We're going to the island on our vacation this summer (in about a week). Gas prices in Houston right now are around $2.10 for unleaded regular. It'll be interesting to see what they are on MV.
I rotated the image slightly, cropped it, and sharpened and resized it before uploading.
