Photographer’s Note
Continuing the Travelogue of Flight 1750 east of the Grand Canyon in Arizona.
The setting sun casts a long shadow from this butte standing alone in the high desert.
The top layer of harder basalt rock has protected this formation from the erosion which has affected the surrounding area of Kaibab limestone.
Taken through the airplane window.

That is an interesting shot. The subject is well positioned and the stretching shadow makes a very interesting effect. The picture quality is pretty harsh though here. Also the rock itself is slightly overexposed on one side.
