Photographer’s Note
Last pic in my Death Valley series. As mentioned in the notes for the previous posts; California has received record setting rainfall this year. Death Valley was no exception. It received so much rain that the canyon floor - the hottest, driest place in the US - simply floded.
The picture is an attempt to represent the ennormeous scale of this majestatic place. I tried to do so by including lots of sky in contrast to the tiny figures on the right.
I think the subtle pastel colours complement the tranquil scene well.

This is a very unusual and fascinating look at Death Valley. My memories of it are quite the opposite of wet. I think you've done a wonderful jon of representing this place in translucent graphic blues, when I usually think of browns. Of course, it's interesting without the people breaking the surface, but when added for scale and interest, I think they make the shot. Well done.

A would have been great shot.
Very good composition.
Well place camera.
Only the sky has to be cropped to make it great.
A border may complete the shot after cropping.

Perfect placement of the horizon - it brilliantly enhances the depth of view and cements the vastness of the view. In addition, the group of waders adds scale. Lovely shot!
