Photographer’s Note
This Harpers Ferry photo was taken from a different perspective of the confluence of the Potomac River(right) and the Shenandoah River (left). The town of Harpers Ferry is an important location for Civil War studies and is the site of John Brown's raid preceeding the armed conflict. Located in West Virginia, Harpers Ferry is neighbored by Maryland (right of the photo) and Virginia (behind the photographer).
