This is just outside the copper smelting factory of Kennecott Copper Co. After the copper ore is crushed and made in to a powder, it goes through various baths and washes, and then everything that is not copper or something else useful (like gold or molybdenum) goes through this pipe across the highway and into another large tailing pile very near the Great Salt Lake, where it is used for other things or sold. I was driving down the highway at dawn, when I passed under these large pipes.

Beautiful image, David. it's great how the two bridges divide the sky to three layers of different colors -blue, blue with yellow (but not green! ), and yellow.
Well seen and well done.

I can't say that these pipes are especially beautiful in themselves, but I really like the picture and they do provide a good foreground. I absolutely adore the colors of the sky here, great stuff! And I like the electric towers and things that you can just see in front of the mountains.

I love the colors on this one and the contrast between the bridge and the sky. Two little things bother me, though. First, at least on my screen, I can barely make out the outline of the plant (or towers) under the bridge. I'd like it to be just a little bit lighter to see that more clearly. Second, the bridge looks just a little tilted. I tried rotating it one degree to the right, and I thought it helped.
Also, very interesting note.

Fantastic colors! Really amazing! The silhouette of the pipes is great, but there's something more subtle in this picture that I like a lot.
It's those silhuettes on the bottom of the picture that I can't understand what they are but kept me staring at them... I think they balance the picture.
I believe you could only clone out those two small lights at the bottom. They are not very distracting but anyway...

Je ne suis pas une grande "fan" du métal et des pipes mais c'est tout de même une belle photo.
Verry nice photo.

Great composition. Lovely colors. Well done! (By the way, I also like the fact that you saw this while driving and actually took the time out to stop and photograph it...)

The girders makes a bolt statement of power, the background colours in four makes the total six bands impact on the viewer

Hello, David :) Great image. Like many of your photos, this one is 'graphic' and i like it a lot! ;) The capture of colors, the way the yellow smoothly changes into blue is amazing.
What a moment! Congratulations.
