Photographer’s Note

The Silver Island Mountains are not an island and haven't been for a few thousand years. Graham Peak, at the left, is 7563 feet above sea level. It is a great place to hike and known for an abundance of marine fossils.

The mountains make a nice backdrop to the shallow salt lake which is part of the Bonneville Salt Flats at Wendover.

Canadians may be forgiven for thinking they see ice. It is not ice, but salt deposits at the edge of the very salty lake.
