Photographer’s Note
An above average snow pack melted rapidly by warm rain and hot weather caused much of Yosemite National Park to flood. The flooding began on May 16th, 2005 and in some areas persists to this day (May 25th, 2005).
The valley is no stranger to flooding and the water plays an important part in redistributing nutrients and minerals. While playing an important part in the ecosystem it also provides yet another reason to visit the park. It makes the numerous waterfalls cascading into the valley simply amazing.

Hai Ian, very dramatic water effect! I am sure you will get wet too when taking this photo.

Quite simply a striking photo. The violence of the water is so evident in the effect you employed, its as if the water is attacking us, trying to burst out of the photo and sweep us away. Fantastic and beautiful.

You used just the right speed to show motion of the water. The tree trunks with moss are quite sharp. Nice composition, too.

Well composed picture Ian - the violence of current and the sturdy tree trunks make interesting contrast.
