Photographer’s Note
Shot at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.
This particular artwork is by Wim Delvoye, Belgian artist. And is known as Caterpillar #5, is an expression of ambivalence. “It’s very steel, but then, it’s also very perforated,” he says. “I’m doing something completely absurd; it’s something that would never be ornate. It’s like enjoying the decadence of ornamenting something that’s not worth being ornate, but at the same time you heroicize the banality.”
I found this very interesting. It had beautiful ornamentation which still looked so beautiful inspite of corrosion.
