Arches National Park Photo

Photographer’s Note

Taken in Arches National Park near Moab Utah. The park is filled with these great rock formations, some of which are huge. The formations in the photo are approximately 80m high. The landscape there seems quite unreal, unitl you get out of the car and start walking around. I would have loved to get some nice clouds in the picture to break up the sky, but no such luck. I was in Utah for 9 days and never saw a cloud for 8 of the days.

Joli paysage, bien cadre, le ciel bleu contraste bien avec les rochers. Joli angle de vue
Seul petit regret le tronc d'arbre mort, qui n'est pas assez entier pour ajuter une lecture intéressante et par contre perturbe le regard.

nice picture, these rocks are very particular.
I like their colors.
I think it will be better if the dead tree will be included in the picture.

I don't mind the cloudless sky at all - maybe if that dry wood at the bottom wasn't there... it would be perfect.
Still, a very fine pic.

I really like these wonderful typical soft colors of the rocks. You took the picture at the right moment, the color of the sun is very nice. Great composition. Very well done Alvin !

Thats fantastic, the colours and that amazing rockface. I like it with no clouds, it makes the rocks stand out more. The only shame is the dead tree - you could have used it for some foreground interest or lost it altogether (my pref would be to include it up close) then it could be even better.

The super clear blue sky really makes a nice backdrop for these dramatic rocky forms. I love the lighting and colors, very well done.
