This is a swamp around Valdosta Georgia. There are a lot of these around Georgia. That's why a lot of reptiles come and built nests in here. It is really dangerous to walk around these swamps especially in the summer time. When the wheather is warm almost all snakes pop out. Most of them venomous. Even if it is a controlled swamp you still wouldn't want to get the risk. I got this shot recently. The wheather was not warm enough for any of those reptiles to come out.
I guess I got lucky with the light. Sun was all around through the trees.Little touch with photoshop cs shadow on the left bottom of the photo.
Any critique is welcomed. |

I too like your composition, lights, shadows, reflections playing through the trees.
i like it, think the reflection is very beautiful, maybe the branches infront are a bit to much
The color of the water and the treens rising from them and even the light all add up to really give that swampy, southern, feel. I can imagine seeing things moving through the water and really feeling a heaviness of a humid environment. Great atmosphere.
Lovely capture of the Okeefenokee Swamp. I just love those cypress trees with their roots in the water.

Hi Kenneth,
Wow I love the colors ... and I particularly appreciate this kind of land. For me, they are not only swamp ...it's a source of biodiversity. Wet land needs to be preserved ... they regulate water and act as filter. I have taken few photos from a bog near Quebec city and those wet land are also wonderful to discover ....
Weel done

Hmmm.... You sure this isn't Valdosta, Georgia. It is very close to the Florida state line, but it's not in Florida.
