Ok... a bit cliche, but an essential way of transportation in NY.
Most of the drivers don't even speak english, they are always in a hurry, it's expensive and most of the time you are stuck in traffic.... but really it has it charms! Running up the street with your arm in the air, trying to catch a cab. Especially at night I love to drive around and see all kinds of places.
The metro is much cheaper and probably faster, but I just loved those yellow cars.

I'd love to visit this incredible city :)

Movement here not only due to the blur but also how you cut both cars..
Is there any reason for the slight tilt here? I think it would be nice to include more of the buildings here and not the panoramic format. It's all about buildings and movement..

Merel, your comments are so true. I lived in the big apple many, many years ago. I used to call it the concrete jungle. Others have called it the capital of the world. It certainly is a hectic city that never sleeps. Taxis.... oh Taxis.... about 15 yrs ago they had a line of taxis specifically built for New York. Same colour and checkers... however, due to the increase of price of fuels and so for, they faced them out. Your picture is certainly very NY, but needs a bit more buildings in it. I agree with KHMELINS with his comment. As NY is full of action, large buildings and people. I like the taxis blurr as it shows busy, and in a hurry just as all New Yorkers conduct themselves. Thanks

I agree with the comments above.
I think the image is very well done, the cut off taxis with the striking yellow colour and movement blur represent the city very nicely.
I have visited NY couple of years ago, loved my visit, would love to go there again, but would never want to live there. Word busy just doesn't apply there anymore, trafic is just insane (especially on Manhattan) for just about 24 hours a day.

Merel,
Another nice shot! I love how you captured the hurried life of the city. It is perfect how the cabs look like they are zooming by you. I really like the way this picture turned out, you did a great job with the composition and good pov. It is amazing to me how you captured two cars completely in your photo.
Thanks for sharing,
Katie
