Photographer's Note

Once the helicopter landed on top of the Mendenhall Glacier, the guide helped me to put on crampons. Crampon is spiking footwear designed for ice climbing. During the two-hour trekking, I saw blue caves, blue ponds, blue rivers, blue waterfalls, and other glacier distinguishing features. It was once-of-a-lifetime experience I will never forget.

This bluish glacier is 250 years old. It looks not clean as normal ice field. Because over the course of the centuries, rocks and dirt has accumulated on the surface along the way.
