I was first time in my life riding on a helicopter and landed on top of the glacier. Then did a couple-hour trekking on the glacier.
The helicopter first did an aerial tour for 30 minutes. Unfortunately, it was raining. Most of my pictures from air are terrible. Only few are acceptable.
This is the view from the helicopter. The blue dots are the blue water ponds from melted glacier.

A beautiful painting like view of the glacier field, Nature's mixture of white and brown patterns enhanced by the pockets of turquoise blue ponds.
Sorry the rain interfered. Now you have a reason to "Do overs".....
Thanks for sharing,

Hi Tiffany, the choice of point of view from the helicopter is truly original and make the difference, creating a fascinating composition,it looks like an abstract peinture,i like it! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

i've never been up in a helicopter either, but i want to.
and you mentioned it was raining but its not visible at all here.
love this type of scene, its a subject that most people will never get to experience first hand.
good for you to have this one in your gallery.

It must really exciting to be on the helicopter, especially to see such view. I have seen this glacier and I've seen the helicopter coming and going to land on the glacier from the hiking trail that I did on the Mendenhall Glacier. I will post it later.
This is really awesome to see the detail of the glacier. Unfortunately it does rain often in the summer here. One has to be lucky to see it in a clear day.

This is cool, looks like you could be sky diving! A possibly once in a life time shot depicting an aerial view of nature wonder in limited colours but there's something that most of us could never have imagined seen this 'abstract' from this height and I am struck by the lush aspects of the formation. Considering the unfavourable condition, it a fine image and colours though and great that patches of blue really have boosted the overall view adding the extra punch, Excellent adventurous shot! Congrats and yfs

Quel vue spectaculaire.C'est cher mais cela vaut le coup d'oeil. On ne voit pas du tout de déformations causées par le plexi glass du cockpit.

A shame you had bad weather in the air, but this picture is very nice. Glaciers have a great graphical potential and this is probably more true again seen from above ! It makes a very abstract graphical shot, we wonder what this photo is !

An extremely inhospitable place where you will land with the helicopter.
Wonderful blue parts of the glacier. I hope they didn't drop you in one of these ponds :)
On the other hand I see also many dark (dirty looking) spots on the ice.
It must have been a wonderful experience.
Sorry, I ran out of smileys.
Best regards, Paul

It was a unique experience miss Tiffany, gorgeous view from the helicopter. I don't forget you, I hope things are going well for you. Alaska glaciers, a reserve of freshwater, are threatened by the global warming
