Photographer’s Note
While out teaching my older two boys how to use an incidental light meter with their film cameras, I came past an old Autocar Diesel tractor that had all sorts of interesting shapes, colors and textures.
It was a great subject for the kids, and I found it interesting too. I found this appropriate for TE as it was accross the street from a steel mill that is being torn down.
The mill was built durring WWII, and ceased operations in 2002. I'm told it was the only operational steel mill in the western United States. I'm sure as the mill comes down, there will be many interesting items to photograph.

Lovely shapes and shadows, with rich colors and fine details. The curves are almost sensual, though I'm a man who loves cars. I know this is a tractor, but the same applies... ;-)
The tight crop makes for a very interesting composition. Excellent equipment and good technique will typically result in a good picture. This is fine work Dana.

This is a beautiful photo Dana especially the rich yellow colour which, incidentally, is my favourite. I really like the details and clarity and the fact that the photographs grabs attention instantly and makes one wonder how the rest of the vehicle would be like. Great shot and lighting. Thanks for sharing.

Definitely a great shot, and certainly a change of pace for you! It’s interesting how things take on an entirely new meaning when you frame close in such as this. Keep them coming!

Expressive shot, Dana. A simple detail paired with one, maximum two more 'main' colours = great pic ;-) I like the reflections in the headlight, looking out to its world around. Thanks for an idea

A plenty of colors and shapes...a good begining for film (and digital )teaching.Good material for composition theory and light and color balance practice.
