You really managed to convey a chaotic feel here, there's nothing to rest your eyes upon, just a total mess. The only "clean" shape here is the car, but since it's cut in half it also adds to the dynamics of the picture. Well captured.

l'impression d'une course effrénée vers on ne sait quoi, pour faire quoi, est bien rendue. Couleurs urbaines animées par le jaune du taxi et du blouson... quelle vie trépidante !

New York must really be a paradise for street photography. Even though you've got a winner with the yellow cab, I can't help wondering that b&w would also suit well your image. YOur note complements well the movement stress perceptible in the scene.

Yellow + yellow is what makes this picture good. And the contrast that everyone except one are wearing black. The car intrudes in a dramatic way into the line of people and exactly at the point of conflict this yellow jacket appears. This guy doesnt seem to know the dress code though ;o)

Great shot from the streets of Manhattan, Efi. Some quintessential NYC elements contained indeed - the yellow cab, the busy pedestrians, the smoke. Also good to have the guy's rain jacket echo the colors of the taxi. This one has a very authentic feel to it that I like.
Efi, I like this photo. It shows how it's a day in the busy NY. Thanks for sharing.
I made a WS just to see how it look's in B&W. Hope u like it.

Hey hey! A street shot! Good to see ya hopping on board Efi. This is a nice one. A real NY feel (even complete with steam!). One minor quibble: I wish you had waited for the man in yellow to get closer to the left of the frame so that the yellow streamed across the shot evenly. Another option would have been to go BW. Always remember that colour is not a given. It is a subject in it's own right (that's why it's more difficult to take colour shots--though most ignore this fact). Nice one Efi!

HI Efi,
As already written, a street scene that combines well the NYC essential elements, I like the focused expression of the people, a mass of individualities going their ways.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Efi :)
Indeed your shot (and note) exactly translante what I always imagined about New-York : All symbols are there. And contrary to others cities in the world (like Paris, Rome, Berlin... ) it is not necessary to photograph a monument to recognize it : A Yellow cab and the subway smoke are sufficient to make it unique. Bravo, Efi. It is a beautiful and well thought shot.

Hi Efi
Good 'daily life' shot of this street. The hard contrast works well and the compo includes fine details of the pedestrians.

Beautiful image! The contrasts and colors are sublime! No, I’m not exaggerating… Despite that the composition is very well managed because the proximity of the car and the people is so big that it conveys a feeling of the car being stopped but ready to run as soon as it can which add some stress to the image. A quite suited feeling to the scene in fact. Also the crop of the car is very good. The diagonal line made by the people add dynamic to the scene also. The final touch is the matching color of the cab and the jacket of the man passing by. It adds coherence to the scene and connects the cab and people in their moving “purpose”.
A great daily life scene, very typical, probably common to Americans but believe me, very engaging to people in other parts of the world!

Nice daily scene from NewYork. The faces are captured well to that end. And the congestion is also felt in this little crop. Taxis in the crosswalk and the colors everywhere and grittiness of a large city really nicely brings that feel to me. There's even a bicyclist in here, a bike messenger perhaps, another New York thing. Well done.

Hi Efi. A most effective daily life shot. The train smoke just gives it that extra verve! I like the way the yellow jacket blends with the cab colour. Very well captured. Its dynamic and the details are sharp. Regards. (Back tomorrow...)

A lot of things is happening in one image. A good capture of daily life. The yellow cab and the yellow jacket adds an impact and of course your saturation of colours.
