This is the Cementerio Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis, which sits on the shore just underneath the city walls and the El Morro fort. It's visible from almost anywhere along the northern city walls. Though we didn't venture down to it, it was an excellent subject from above.

A beautiful final resting place near the sea.
A well framed and very colourful picture. The pink dome contrasts strongly with the blue sky and with the water. I really like that glimpse we catch of the blue sea with the white waves.
The picture has a very good depth.
Best regards, Paul

what a place to be buried! I guess the cemetry is not that pleasant subject for many people, but I quite like the peaceful atmosphere which one can often find there. This one is located really prettily right at the sea.
I like how you captured it from between two stone pillars which frame the view nicely.
Good perspective and colors.
Thanks for sharing

Attractive cemetery memorial architecture, round design with column supports, and a fine dome. And the crowded tombstones add to the image, plus the ocean waves behind.

Beautiful architecture and very good POV you choose with the sea in the BG. Well framed by these walls too.

Hello Andrew, very attractive view of this cemetery chapel near the sea. Nice place for eternal rest, but I rather do not like to think about it :). I like the pink dome and round architecture with arches. Very nice pastel colours. Excellent capture.
have a nice Sunday

Hi Andrew - The location and look of the cemetery give it a positive and pleasant look which is quite at odds with what many of us think of death. A fine shot and a very interesting one. Being a bit macabre of thought .... I wonder what will happen to the bones when the effects of global warming and the increase in sea levels happen? I can imagine them floating on the tide ;)
Have a nice Sunday

what an amazing last resting place. I love the way you have framed and composed this shot. It gives us a superb idea of the setting and also intrigues at the same time. Glorious detail and clarity. What a beautiful place, one of the most beautiful cemeteries I have seen. That sounds a bid weird doesn't it? Well I think you know what I mean. :-)
Enjoy your Sunday - B.

That 's a nice photo. As somebody said, that is a place to stay for centuries...
I just have a question. As you said, it is visible from everywhere from the wall. I believe that your photo had been stronger if you took it a little from the right to have the mausolée not centered on the town but on the sea, still having the town visible. Isnt it ?

Une superbe photo, de belles couleurs et une bon cadrage.

This is one of ,y favourite subjects, I always find cemeteries such rich ground for photography. This looks like a fantastic place, specially the round structure in the centre, which I wonder, is this a tomb? Or a church perhaps? It is similar in design to some grand to,bs I have seen but this is huge in comparison. The colors are striking too, I am more used to seeing these places as grey and colourless, morbid in the colors, do its nice to see he Brit whites and soft pastels here.
Lovely idea to frame it with what I guess are the crenellations of the wall, it gives the appearance that this is the entrance to a true necropolis.
Thanks for sharing, fascinating place.
All the best

Despite the fact that you didn't venture down to this cemetery, you have probably captured this place from the very best viewpoint. Lower down and you would not have had such a wonderful view of the lovely red dome nor of the sea and the buildings on the hilltop on the right.
An excellent idea to use the gap in the castellations of the city wall as a frame in this fine composition which has lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

Excellent subject from above indeed. The ancient wall creates a lovely framing for this fabulous scene. The cemetery and the little chapel is nicely beautifully captured from your high vantage point. Splendid colours and light. Great work! Thanks.

Cleverly framed shot indeed. The view towards the cemetery trough the ramparts of the fort is intriguing. A resting place so close to the sea must be rewarding, even though one can't really profit any more.
have a great sunday

An interesting building and a fine cemetery with a superb location. You used the wall nicely for the composition and the exposure was faultless.

wow, i don't think i've ever seen a cemetery right along side the ocean! thats amazing.
the crosses look very clean, but i know its taken from a place further back - but yeah, everything looks clean and tidy.

We don't see too many uploads from Puerto Rico so thanks for adding another. I like the high pov across the whitewashed cemetery and the red tower tops nicely framing and bookending the shot. Good sharpness, density and saturation. Tfs!

Just like the Philippines this cemetery shows the strong influence of the Spanish culture. Nicely captured with good lighting and nice details. I like the use of the walls as frames. Well done, tfs.

very interesting composition: I like the tight symmetrical framing on both sides. The cemetery is something I would no expect so near the beach. It is very photogenic and you made the best use of it. The chapel in the very centre has a lovely style and colors. I like also very much the beautiful coast opening just behind, it tells us more about the location.
Very well seen and captured!
Have a great weekend,

Seems a really unusual place for a cemetery and so close to the sea! I like your pov, you give a view of the place and the colourful church and we can even see the waves in background. Very beautiful colours!
