Photographer's Note

I like to dedicate this photo to our friend Lisa aka “delpeoples,” who mother has fallen with broken arms and ribs. Lisa, I wish your mum a speedy recovery. This photo show how family member lookout and support each other.

We were very lucky to have seen a few mother bears and cubs on this trip. According to the rangers, they were surprise to see the mother and cubs are also here because it is relatively dangerous for the cubs, because of the competition between bears. This mother bear was doing a great job. She still has all 3 of her cubs. These cubs are 2-year old. She will try to stay on island where it is easy for her to be on the lookout if any other bears are in the area. We saw them walking pass the viewing deck and swam across the bay. The little one was having a bit of a problem crossing the water. It is very touching to see how the rest of the family waiting for the little one and seem to give their mental support and encouragement. Here you see the little brother trying to give his helping paws to his little sister. What also was surprising to me, bears are really good swimmers.

In the ws, you’ll see the little one is much smaller than the other two though they are the same age.
