Asheville and the surrounding areas of Western North Carolina are a haven for musicians. Inside or out on the streets, Asheville has a different soundtrack each day.
This shot was taken at the biannual LEAF festival in Black Mountain. So often the lighting at these things can be challenging, but in this case, I like how dark the stage is during the soundcheck, revealing only pieces of color, therefore getting you to mentally fill in what is hidden in the shadows.

my thoughts? ehm, there is no one around, so i can speak out loud :)
throwing this photo into trash would also be throwing the whole sum of italian or dutch baroque painting into trash, if the reason of dislike is the lack of visible areas. as you know, most of the baroque painting, from caravaggio to rembrandt, is about low light and filling in the blanks inside your mind. this photo has such a baroque appeal and i like a lot how those crowded elements pop out from darkness like a puzzle, to create a whole image in my mind.
to imagine or not to imagine. that is the question.
